My name is Chad Smith, I live in Jacksonville Beach with my wife Alden and our dog, Merle. I am 43 years old and have been married for 19 years. In 2013, I sustained a C4 spinal cord injury at a rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida. I was left with no movement from the shoulders down. Since then, I have learned so much about myself and those around me, experiencing more love than I would’ve ever imagined. I spend much of my time writing children’s books and working out at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. With faith, family and friends, I have continued to live a great life despite the adversity I been faced with.
