Headshot of Jared Hogg

Jared Hogg is a C4 Quadriplegic who sustained a severe spinal cord injury in the spring of 2018 from a diving accident when he was 17. From the onset of his injury, he has been actively involved in research studies and developed a passion for research as it provided opportunities to ask questions and better understand his life after spinal cord injury. He has served as a guest speaker for multiple physical therapy classes at the University of Florida, where, in conjunction with his research experiences, he realized his fit in pursuing a career in healthcare. Jared aims to use his perspective as someone with a spinal cord injury to help researchers and clinicians succeed in serving the community, and help integrate research and its findings into clinical practice. He graduated from the University of North Florida in fall 2025 with a degree in Health Science and plans to pursue a Master’s in Health Administration at the University of Florida. Guided by his mission to advocate for people with spinal cord injuries, Jared is committed to building a strong, inclusive community grounded in resilience, compassion, and curiosity. He strives to advance spinal cord injury health, accessibility, and innovation so that every individual has the opportunity to live a full and healthy life—and is empowered to do so. In his personal life, Jared is a 3D printing enthusiast, reader, writer, adaptive gamer, and adaptive athlete who loves spending time with his friends and family. He does not enjoy long walks on the beach.
